Painted and based final version of the Secret Agent.

Wip shot of the partner for the secret agent, second figure in the Last Action Heroes range available from the main website store.

Saturday, May 03, 2008

The secret agent is now finished and I will be starting the next figure this weekend, which will either be a partner for this guy or something completely different. I just haven't decided yet.

It's my birthday today, HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME! no sculpting and lots of eating and drinking, so a good day.

Wip pics of a secret agent/spy that I have started sculpting for a range of figures that I am going to be producing and selling myself under the category of Last Action Heroes. The idea is that the range will be loosely based on Tv and Film characters. This figure is a 60's secret agent who works with a partner. I expect to have the figure finished in the next day or so and will be starting work on his partner this week, which I will try and do as a stage by stage.

I have just received the master metals back from the mouldmakers and they are looking pretty good. I have just primed them ready for painting, I am looking forward to getting some time to paint these.

The Arabs are all finished finally, with the horses being fully detailed now. They are off to the mouldmakers next week so I should expect to see some metals fairly soon.

I'm busy with the back end of a couple of commissions and I have started my own range at long last, look out for some posts about this in the next couple of weeks.

Here is the latest sculpt for Eagle figures, a Spanish Napoleonic fusilier in campaign dress. I am looking forward to seeing these latest figures cast and having a go at painting a regiment.

A Spanish Infantry Fusilier from the Napoleonic wars that I have just finished sculpting for Eagle figures. I have another figure for them, in shabby campaign dress almost complete and some conversions on the previous figures too which I will post when I have finished them.

I have finally finished the Arabs for Blaze Away miniatures after what seems like a very long time. I really need to improve the time that I take to sculpt a miniature but they are worth the wait I think.

Next I am on with some more Spanish Napoleonics for Eagle figures and then I have another project which I can't disclose and I am also starting my own range of figures. This is something that I have been talking about doing for quite some time but I am finally getting round to it. I look forward to posting pics as they are completed.

On the workbench at the moment are these turn of the century Arab tribesmen for Blaze away miniatures. I hope to have them all finished in a couple of days.

The Spanish infantry command group for Eagle figures are finally finished, took a lot longer to complete than I had wished for with Christmas and all. I am pleased with these and I am looking forward to seeing them cast.

At the moment I am trying to finish off a couple of commissions that I have still. I'm working on a command group for the Spanish Infantry that I sculpted recently for Eagle figures pictured above. The figures and faces in particular are coming out quite nicely and I am really pleased with them. I am also working on some French Foreign Legion and Arabs for Blaze away miniatures.
If I get time I also have some ideas for some figures that I would like to produce for myself. I'm not sure how well they would sell but I'm fairly certain that I could at least make the production costs back. You have to take risks in this life to get anywhere.

Just added a new building to my Deadwood terrain range, it's a mining and assay office which based around the same design as the Dry good's store. Due to popular demand and a lot of inquiries I decided to make the building with a lift off roof. I always forget about figures when I put them inside buildings but at least the option is there. I am in the planning stages at the moment for the next building which is going to be a Sherrif's office/jailhouse.

I have been busy with these buildings for the last couple of weeks, I was hoping to sell them at the last wargames show in Stockton but unfortunately they didn't sell. It was an interesting day all the same though and I managed to catch up with a few old friends and associates.
From today I am starting my own range of figures, I have a few ideas that I would like to see made so I thought that I would give it a go and see what happens. I will hopefully be posting pics on here of the greens both as wip and finished pics, at least that's what I would like to try and do. Although my track record for posting isn't the most prolific.

A new building for my Wild West campaign, a small hut built and painted in around 4 hours give or take a few mins. I am planning to build a bank next for the outlaws to try and rob.
